Useful API’s for Web Developers

What is the API?

Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) are ready-made programming language constructs that allow the developer to build complex functionality with less effort. They “hide” more complex code from the programmer, ensuring ease of use.

For a better understanding, let’s look at the analogy with home power grids. When you want to use an electrical appliance, you just plug it in and everything works. You do not try to connect the wires directly to the current source — it is useless and, if you are not an electrician, difficult and dangerous.
